How Footballco Shifted to Google Workspace to Work More Efficiently With Enhanced Security
Footballco partnered with Searce to streamline their communication and collaboration by implementing Google Workspace across the organization. Searce assisted them in migrating their data to Google Workspace and provided extensive change management to assist in the adoption of sophisticated tools such as Gmail, Google Meet, Docs and Chat to boost employee productivity. Footballco also used Google Workspace to develop advanced security and end-point management features to improve their overall security.
Challenges
- Footballco was a part of DAZN Group who relied extensively on Microsoft 365 as their collaboration and communication platform as well as for security and end-point management.
- Footballco works with a lot of content creators across the globe who are either freelancers or contractual workers. They were using either a consumer Google account for Gmail, Drive or the legacy G Suite Standard plan (free version). This resulted in issues such as Shadow IT, as well as difficulties with collaboration and security concerns.
- It was getting increasingly difficult for Footballco to liaise and work cohesively for end-users with all these different entities spanning across multiple platforms on MS. The IT teams also faced challenges around managing end-points and ensuring secure access for their remote employees.
- FootballCo demerged from DAZN Group by mid-2020 and kickstarted the “Get Off DAZN” programme in late 2020, started evaluating Google Workspace as the viable solution and platform to migrate.
Searce Solution
Footballco needed an alternative to Office 365 for messaging and collaboration while separating from the parent company (DAZN Group). Searce suggested that their users be moved to Google Workspace. This covered data migration from Outlook, OneDrive, and Dropbox, as well as end point and identity management transitions.
- Improve business processes and boost collaboration: Google Workspace contains everything a business needs for day-to-day operations in one place, reducing the need to switch between tools or purchase additional resources. It helped the team boost productivity. Employees could collaborate in real time and have a better understanding of business activities using smart collaboration tools like Google Drive, Meet, Chat, Docs, Slides, Sheets, and Forms.
- Enhance data security: With Google Workspace features like endpoint management, browser management, Data Leak Prevention, restricted email control and Mobile Device Management, the firm’s IT team had complete control over corporate data security.
- Work and stay connected while being remote: With the endless work from home challenges, Workspace made it easier for employees to stay connected using Google Meet and Chat and collaborate in real-time using Docs and Sheets, all while remaining secure and efficient.
Business Impact
Footballco used Google Workspace to bring together all of their sub-brands and businesses (goal.com, spox.com, and voetbalzone.nl) for a better flow of information across the company and to collaborate with other businesses and ancillaries.
- Collaboration and uptime: Google Workspace implementation has increased both uptime and collaboration for their overall business operations.
- Better adoption rate: End-users are able to quickly transition from an MS environment and make the most use of all key services to collaborate amongst teams and external parties due to user familiarity with Google services, effective training sessions, and participation.
- Easier Management: IT administrators found it easier to manage their users, devices and apps on a single console and were able to implement advanced security features like DLP, context-aware access, and more.
- Reduced TCO: Workspace assisted them in consolidating their collaboration, video conferencing, end-point management, and security needs into a single platform, removing redundant apps and drastically lowering their IT OpEx.
