Searce Helped Armstrong Fluid Technologies Leverage Google Maps APIs to Optimize Their Operations Globally
With eight manufacturing facilities on four continents, and employees around the world, Armstrong Fluid Technologies is known as an innovator in the design, engineering and manufacturing of intelligent fluid flow equipment, control solutions, and optimization technologies.
With advanced solutions that leverage edge computing, IoT, machine learning, digital twin technology and demand-based control, Armstrong provides and protects efficiency in building mechanical systems, approaching energy optimization as a whole-building challenge and advancing the practice of full lifecycle management.
Challenges
Armstrong fluid technologies was just a few months away from launching a new ERP system and they needed to verify address components using dynamic database. This system consisted of a static list of countries, states/provinces, cities, and zip codes to which the entered address data was being matched. If an address does not match, it can not be added to the system. With 10,000+ addresses being submitted to their system currently, they were looking for a solution that can connect to the online product selection tool so the address is validated. Moreover, it was important to connect the relevant solution to their ERP system so other addresses for commercial relationships with representatives, agents, suppliers, etc. can also be validated.
Searce Solution
With online product demos, the solvers at Searce helped the organization realize the power of Google Maps Platform and how it can help them process their orders easily with relatively more accuracy.
- The new Address Validation API was a true fit for their use case. It would help them structure and fix incorrect addresses and validate whether they actually existed. Thus reducing inaccuracies to a huge extent.
- After demonstrating the importance of Address Validation API, we were able to show how it can help reduce failed deliveries and unnecessary costs.
- For a global organization, it’s important to understand product availability by region and provide solutions for the global network. Armstrong plans to use Address Validation in NorthAM and UK and Autocomplete in India and Middle East where the API isn’t available.
Notably, it was Searce’s first closure for the new APIs that Google launched making this one of the first use-cases to have successfully been closed.
Business Impact
- Implementation of Google Maps APIs enabled their ERP system to process more orders.
- Consulting with Searce helped optimize their time, their existing usage, and the costs.
- With Searce having a global view of businesses, we helped give Armstrong Fluid Technologies accurate information about availability of APIs across different regions and their respective Terms of Service enabling them to have a system that delivers globally.
