Searce Helps Razor Group Leverage the Best of AWS with DynamoDB

Razor Group is one of Europe’s leading e-commerce goods companies and they were in the process of building new data-intensive applications. The team connected with Searce to help them host the applications in AWS ensuring scalability and reliability. One of the major concerns for Razor Group was choosing the right database as the requests pattern did not have a fixed schema and scalability was another concern.
Searce Solution
We kick-started this project by gathering all the necessary requirements through deep dive sessions with Razor Group’s team to understand the underlying architecture of their environment and its features. After a series of discussions and consolidating the requirements, Searce came up with a highly available, secure, and robust AWS architecture. We went ahead with DynamoDB as the preferred choice of database due to the following capabilities it helped us integrate:
- Event-driven architecture with S3 buckets
- Store user profile information in unstructured format
- Trigger Lambda function, MSK DAG by using DynamoDB Streams
- Ensure reliability & scalable-based on the load from the application
- Ensure point-in-time recovery
- Cross-region global replicas
Business Outcome
- By leveraging DynamoDB serverless, Razor group was able to optimize their costs since the application wasn’t heavily used 24*7
- Shift focus from managing the storage and scaling of the database to their core business functions of application innovation
- Being a managed database, DynamoDB offloads the DB management tasks like patching and upgrades
